Mission:

To be a progressive, friendly, well-trained Fire Department that provides safe, effective, professional service to protect lives and property and provide fire education and prevention to our community. Our department was established in 1915 and was totally volunteer until December 1994 when the first paid firefighter was hired by the Town. We now have twelve (12) full time firefighters and 17 volunteers. We operate out of a single fire station located on Tom Hall Street with 8 pieces of fire apparatus. We have 2 engines, one tanker, one service truck, one grass unit pick up truck, one command vehicle, one utility pick up and a 95' ladder truck. We answer approximately 400 emergency calls a year and speak to over 3,000 adults and children every year concerning fire prevention and safety.

Community Fundraisers

We recognize the importance of community involvement by actively participating in and supporting several organizations with their fundraising and volunteer efforts. We conduct blood drives on the 3rd Saturday in December and the 1st or 2nd weekend in June. We also participate in a country wide firefighter campaign called “Fill the Boot” in end of May where proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
